Kim Aeyoung

김애영은 완전히 하나의 덩어리가 아닌, 해체-분할 된 도자기의 조형성에 주목한다. 물레를 돌려 중심을 잡으며 하나의 덩어리로 형태를 만들어가는 것과 달리 그의 작품은 중심축에서 벗어나도 형상이 그려지는 도자를 빗어내고, 자유로운 조형적 실험을 통해 기존 도자기의 형태를 벗어나 새로운 도자 형태의 연결성에 대해 고찰한다. 그의 대표작 〈피봇〉시리즈는 도자를 분할-재설치 하면서 푸른색 안료로 작가의 경험과 사회적 내러티브를 담은 작업으로, 정밀한 묘사를 통해 자신만의 화풍을 만들어가고 있다. 김애영은 홍익대학교 도예유리과와 동 대학원을 졸업하였다. 2015년 갤러리 이후(2015), 크래프트 온더 힐(2017), 스페이스 금채(2023)에서 개인전을 개최했으며, 양구 백작박물관, 밀알 미술관, 일본 아이치현도자미술관, 청주 공예비엔날레, 여주 건축도자전시관 등 다수의 그룹전에 참여하였다. 청주국제공예비엔날레, 경기도세계도자비엔날레, 서울현대도예공모전 등에서 수상하였으며, 2019 경기세계도자비엔날레 [302인의 작가]로 선정되었다. 그의 작품은 서울공예박물관, 한국도자재단, 일본 시가라키 도예의 숲, 중국 하얏트 리젠시, 세티나인, 롯데월드호텔도림 등에 소장되어 있다. Kim Aeyoung focuses on the sculpturality of dismantled and divided ceramics, rather than being a completely solid object. Unlike forming shapes into a single mass by spinning the wheel to establish a center, her works reject the conventional wheel-thrown ceramics that take shape from the central axis and instead explore the connectivity of new ceramic forms through free sculptural experiments. Her representative series, "Pivot," involves dividing and reinstalling ceramics, incorporating blue pigments to express the artist's experiences and societal narratives, gradually creating her own artistic style through precise depictions Kim Aeyoung graduated from the Department of Ceramics and Glass at Hongik University and completed a master's degree. She has held solo exhibitions at Gallery IHU(2015), Craft on the Hill(2017), and Space Geumchae(2023), and participated in numerous group exhibitions including at Yanggu Baekjang Museum, Milal Art Museum, Aichi Prefectural Ceramic Art Museum in Japan, Cheongju Craft Biennale, and Yeoju Architecture Ceramic Exhibition Hall. She has won awards at the Cheongju International Craft Biennale, Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale, and Seoul Contemporary Ceramic Competition, and was selected for the 2019 Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale's "302 Artists." Her works are held in collections at Seoul Museum of Craft Art, Korea Ceramic Foundation, Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park in Japan, and various hotels and corporate including Hyatt Regency, Setinine, and Lotte World Hotel Dorim in Seoul.
