Bang Jeong A

방정아는 회화를 통해 꾸준히 ‘지금, 여기’의 이야기를 다뤄왔다. 그의 화면에는 서로 무관해 보이는 인물, 풍경, 사물들이 등장하지만, 그 안에는 우리의 일상과 사회를 관통하는 접점들이 자리한다. 일상적이고 친숙한 장면에서부터 한국을 비롯한 동아시아 사회의 구조적 현실에 이르기까지, 작가는 인간의 삶과 그 이면에 놓인 이야기들을 포착해 자신만의 회화적 언어로 풀어낸다. 구불구불하면서 강렬한 붓질과 다채로운 색채, 그리고 화면 속 인물들은 삶을 살아가는 사람들의 관계와 사회의 여러 단면을 드러낸다. 작품은 가볍지 않은 현실을 작가만의 유머와 위트의 언어로 전환하며 사회 구조에 대한 성찰을 담아내고, 그 시선은 개인과 주변을 넘어 사회, 환경, 보다 넓은 세계로 확장된다. 방정아는 홍익대학교 미술대학 회화과 학부 졸업 후 동서대학교 IT & 영상 전문대학원 영상디자인과를 졸업했다. 광주시립미술관(광주, 2025), 맥화랑(부산, 2025), 논베를린(베를린, 독일, 2024), 신세계 센텀시티 갤러리(부산, 2023), 봉산문화회관(대구, 2023), 비온후 책방(부산, 2020), 예술 지구 P(부산, 2020), 부산시립미술관(부산, 2019), 복합문화공간 에무(서울, 2018), 자 하미술관(서울, 2017), 공간화랑(부산, 2016) 등에서 개인전을 개최하였다. 디아컨템포러리 (서울, 2026), 뮤지엄헤드 (서울, 2026), 전북도립미술관 (완주, 2024), 부산비엔날레 (부산현대미술관, 부산, 2024), 수원시립미술관(수원, 2024), 경남도립미술관(창원, 2023), 부산현대미술관(부산, 2023), MMK(부산, 2023), F1963 석천홀(부산, 2023; 2018), 선셋미술관(신안, 2023), 국립아시아문화전당(광주, 2022), 돌문화공원(제주, 2022), 국립현대미술관(서울, 2021), 뮤지엄산(원주, 2020), 자하미술관(서울, 2020), 광주비엔날레(국립아시아문화전당, 광주, 2018) 등에 서 단체전에 참여하였다. 부산시립미술관 , 대전 시립미술관, 경남 도립미술관, 국립현대미 술관, 미술은행, 후쿠오카 아시아 미술관 등에 소장되어 있다. Bang Jeong A has consistently addressed stories of the “here and now” through painting. Her canvases feature figures, landscapes, and objects that may appear unrelated, yet within them lie points of connection that appear through our everyday lives and society. From familiar and ordinary scenes to the structural realities of Korean and broader East Asian societies, she captures human life and the stories that lie beneath it, expressing them through her own painterly language. Her winding yet powerful brushstrokes, vibrant colors, and the figures that populate her compositions reveal the relationships between people and various facets of society. Transforming weighty realities through her own language of humor and wit, her work reflects on social structures, while her perspective expands beyond the individual and the immediate surroundings to encompass society, the environment, and the wider world. After graduating from Hongik University's Department of Painting, Bang Jeong A graduated from Dongseo University's Graduate School of IT & Video Design.
