Ji Mingyoung

지민경은 선과 여백을 통해 직관적으로 형상을 표현하며, 내면의 자유로움에 도달하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 사람과 풍경의 연관적 조형성에 대해 탐구하는 작가는 지필묵과 닥나무로 만든 장지를 사용하여 검은 먹의 얼룩과 붓의 필적을 남기는데, 이는 멍이나 상처처럼 다가온 감정을 빛의 시작과 치유의 흔적으로 치환시킨다. 작가는 각자 다른 곳에서 어우러져 있는 모습에서 여러 점과 선들로 기억된 장면들을 한지 위에 구성한다. 그의 작품에는 유독 소녀의 얼굴이 자주 등장하는데 이는 거울이 비친 자신을 직관적인 붓질로 담아내기 때문이다. 이러한 작품은 응시의 대상이자 주체자로 작가와 관람자들이 서로 마주 보게 하며, 숨겨진 내면을 들여다보도록 한다. 지민경은 동아대학교 미술학부 한국학과를 졸업하고, 경상대학교 한국학과 석사과정에 재학 중이다. 석류원 문화골목(2014), 진주 정수예술촌(2015), 진주 갤러리 컬렉터스(2021), 뮤지엄남해(2022), 더현대서울(2024)에서 개인전을 개최했으며, 대안공간 반디(2009), AK갤러리(2015), 성산아트홀(2019), [ART-IST](2022, 분더샵), PBG(2023) 등 다수의 기획전에 참여하였다. Ji Mingyoung aims to express forms intuitively through lines and spaces, striving to reach inner freedom. Exploring the associative morphology of people and landscapes, the artist uses silk scrolls made of paper mulberry and birch trees to leave black ink stains and brush marks, which replace approaching emotions like bruises or scars with the beginning of light and traces of healing. Ji arranges scenes remembered by various dots and lines on hanji, each composed of different places. In her works, the face of a girl frequently appears, as it reflects oneself in a mirror captured by intuitive brushstrokes. These works serve as subjects of contemplation and allow both the artist and viewers to confront each other, peering into hidden inner selves. Ji graduated from the Art Department at Dong-A University with a major in Korean Studies and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Korean Studies at Kyungsung University. She has held solo exhibitions at venues such as Seoryuwon Cultural Alley (2014), Jinju Jeongsoo Art Village (2015), Jinju Gallery Collectors (2021), Museum Namhae (2022), and The Hyundai Seoul (2024). Additionally, she has participated in numerous group exhibitions at alternative spaces like Bandy (2009), AK Gallery (2015), Seongsan Art Hall (2019), ART-IST (2022, Bundershop), and PBG (2023).
