Jo Soyun

조소윤의 회화는 일상의 파편적 순간들을 수집하고, 이를 장지 위에 중첩하며 하나의 화면으로 재구성한다. 서로 다른 시간과 장소에서 포착된 장면들은 몽타주처럼 병치되며, 단일한 서사가 아닌 다층적인 감각의 흐름을 형성한다. 그의 작업은 사소한 순간들의 축적을 통해, 완결된 이미지가 아닌 ‘지속적으로 형성되는 감각의 상태’를 드러낸다. 조소윤은 추계예술대학교 미술학부 동양화과 졸업 후 이화여자대학교 일반대학원 동양화과에 입학해 재학 중이다. 올해 이화아트갤러리에서 개인전을 개최했고, 디아컨템포러리 (서울, 한국, 2026), 부산 복합예술공간(부산, 한국, 2025), 한길 북하우스(파주, 한국, 2025), 이화아트갤러리(서울, 한국, 2025), Kate Oh Gallery(뉴욕, 미국, 2025), SUN Gallery(2025), 온수공간(서울, 한국, 2024), 굽네 플레이타운(2024), 인천 17사단 갤러리(인천, 한국, 2024), 갤러리 라메르(서울, 한국, 2024), 두실 갤러리(2024) 등에서 열린 단체전에 참여했다. Working with traditional East Asian painting, Jo Soyun brings everyday moments and visual experiences onto Jangji, Korean paper. By cutting and recombining photographs that the artist gathered from different times and places, she reassembles ungraspable moments into a single scene from a present perspective- exploring the structure of perception and memory. Like a tangram, her practice collects forms through fragmentation, rearranging familiar images into unfamiliar compositions and forming a distinct visual language. Jo Soyun graduated BFA in East Asian Painting at Chugye University for the Arts and currently studies at Ewha Womans University for a MFA in East Asian Painting. She held a solo exhibition at Ewha Art Gallery in 2026. She has participated in various group exhibitions such as 《DYNAMIS》(2026, DIA Contemporary, Seoul), 《TOUCHABLE SKY》(2025, Kate Oh Gallery, New York), 《WINTER MASTERPIECES 2025》(2025, SUN Gallery), 《Transparent, Holding Each Other’s Hands》(2024, Onsu Space, Seoul), 《Dimly Moving》(2024, Goobne Playtown, Seoul), and more. She received schlorships from Busan Multi-Art Complex(2025) and Ewha Art Gallery(2025).
