‘블루’ 사진으로 잘 알려진 김태균은 2004년부터 파란 바다와 하늘 사진, 자연을 주제로〈블루〉연작을 선보이고 있다. 작가는 같은 장소에서 매번 다른 얼굴을 보여주고 있는 푸른색의 풍경을 선사한다. 시시각각 변화하는 파랑의 파도, 수평선, 하늘과 구름의 섬세한 차이를 렌즈로 포착하며, 풍경들이 살아 숨 쉬고 있음을 보여준다. 디지털 보정을 하지 않는 것을 원칙으로 하는 그의 작품은 노출시간 조절 등 원론적인 사진 기법에 의해 자연의 깊은 푸른색을 담아내는데, 작품 속 푸른색 미묘한 변화 과정을 보고 있으면 관람객들에게 압도적인 푸른 색감이 주는 경이로움과 늘 새롭게 다가오는 자연의 위대함을 선사한다. 김태균은 광고사진 출신 작가로 1997년부터 순수미술 사진으로 돌아서서 1998 갤러리 인데코를 시작으로 갤러리 잔다리(2008), 심여화랑(2009, 2010, 2015), J&S 아트 프로젝트(2020), 나노드론(2021), 유아트스페이스(2023) 등에서 주요 개인전을 개최 했으며, 서울, 싱가포르, 자카르타, 두바이, 중국 등 다수의 국내외 기획전에 참여하며 활발하게 활동하고 있다. Kim Tai-kyun, well-known for his "Blue" photographs, has been presenting his ongoing series titled "Blue" since 2004, featuring blue sea and sky photographs as well as nature as his subjects. The artist offers landscapes with varying faces of blue, captured at the same location but showcasing different scenes each time. He captures the ever-changing blue waves, the horizon, and the delicate differences in the sky and clouds through his lens, revealing that the landscapes are alive and breathing. His principle of not digitally correcting his works allows him to capture the deep blue of nature through fundamental photography techniques such as exposure control. Observing the subtle changes in the blue hues within his works, viewers are presented with the overwhelming beauty of the blue tones and the constant awe-inspiring greatness of nature. Tai-kyun, who started his career in the advertising photography industry, made a transition to fine art photography in 1997. Since then, he has showcased his work in major solo exhibitions at renowned galleries such as Gallery Indeco (1998), Gallery Jandari (2008), Simyeo Gallery (2009, 2010, 2015), J&S Art Project (2020), Nanodrone (2021), and U Art Space (2023). Additionally, he has been actively involved in various domestic and international exhibitions held in cities like Seoul, Singapore, Jakarta, Dubai, and China.
