Lee Dahee

이다희는 음악 번안가로 음악을 시각예술로 옮기는 작업을 하고 있다. 음악 번안 시스템을 창안자인 작가는 청각에서 시각으로 시각에서 공간으로 순간의 층위를 옮기며, 단순히 보고 듣는다는 개념에서 나아가 다채로운 오감을 자극하는 작품을 선보인다. 작가의 대표작인 〈푸른 전주곡 Blue Prelude〉는 바흐의 ‘평균율 클라비어곡집(The Well-Tempered Clavier Book)’을 회화로 표현한 작품이다. 작가가 고안한 ‘음악번안시템’으로 바흐의 음률을 회화로 재해석한 작품은 음악의 합리적인 아름다움과 절묘한 논리를 표현하기 위해 계산한 드로잉 기록을 함께 작품으로 남긴다. 작가는 예술의 작업 과정에도 중점을 두고 그 과정 자체를 탐구하며 음악가가 연주하듯, 물감을 통해 작품을 연주해 나간다. 그리고 완성된 드로잉의 스케치를 과감한 붓 터치와 다채로운 색감으로 캔버스에 옮기는데, 우아한 선율을 다양한 색의 레이어를 통해 시각적으로 표현한 작품은 눈으로 보는 음악이라는 새로운 경험을 선사한다. 이다희는 이화여자대학교 서양화과와 심리학과를 졸업하였고, 영국 글래스고 예술대학교 석사를 졸업하였다. 2015 색계 릴레리 프로젝트를 시작으로, 팔복예술공장(2019), 광주신세계갤러리(2021), 금호미술관(2022), 안다즈서울강남(2023)에서 개인전을 개최했으며, 다수의 기획전에 참여하였다. 그의 작품은 Royal Scottish Academy, 국립현대미술관 미술은행, 국립현대미술관 정부미술은행, 양주장욱진시립미술관, 강릉문화재단, 미얀마 롯데호텔, 프리드라이프 등에 작품이 소장되어 있다. Lee Dahee translates music into visual art as a music transcriber, transferring layers of moments from auditory to visual and from visual to spatial realms. Moving beyond the mere concept of seeing and hearing, she presents works that stimulate various senses. Her representative work, "Blue Prelude," is an expression of Bach's "The Well-Tempered Clavier Book" in painting. Using her invented "music transcription system," she reinterprets Bach's melodies into paintings, leaving behind calculated drawing records to express the rational beauty and intricate logic of music. She emphasizes the artistic process itself, exploring it as a musician would perform, playing the artwork through paint. She boldly transfers the sketched drawings of the completed work onto canvas with daring brushstrokes and vibrant colors. By visually expressing elegant melodies through layers of various colors, her works offer a new experience of seeing music, presenting it as a visual art. Dahee graduated from Ewha Womans University with majors in Western Painting and Psychology, and earned a master's degree from the Glasgow School of Art in the UK. Starting with the 2015 Chromatic Gallery Project, she held solo exhibitions at various venues such as Palbok Art Factory (2019), Gwangju Shinsegae Gallery (2021), Kumho Museum of Art (2022), and Andaz Seoul Gangnam (2023), and participated in numerous group exhibitions. Her works are held in collections including the Royal Scottish Academy, National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Government Art Bank, Yangju Jang Wookjin City Museum of Art, Gangneung Cultural Foundation, and Myanmar Lotte Hotel Fried Life.
