Lee Yunhee

이윤희는 단테 Dante의〈신곡 La Divina Commedia〉을 모티브로 자신만의 서사로 재해석한 도예작품을 선보인다. 작가는 정교하게 빗어진 세라믹 위로 금빛으로 화려한 무늬를 세밀하게 그려낸다. 그리고 전형적인 도예 작업의 형태에서 벗어나 도예를 하나의 재료로 사용하여, 입체, 평면, 부조 등으로 표현함으로써 이제껏 보지 못했던 작가의 독자적인 작업을 이어나가고 있다. 부조의 흰 도자기에는 소녀 해골, 꽃, 말, 중세 기사 등 다양한 도상들이 담겨있다. 작가는 소녀를 주인공으로 내세워 소녀가 욕망과 불안으로부터의 치유를 위해 떠나는 긴 여정 속에서 여러 가지 문제들과 대면하는 모습들을 작품 속에서 담아낸다. 그리고 생과 사를 상징적인 도상으로 나열하고, 조합함으로써 하나의 거대한 서사를 만들어간다. 작가는 작품을 통해 삶이란 유에서 무로 돌아가는 과정임을 밝히며, 업으로부터 해탈하는 단계가 무엇인지에 대해 사유한다. 그리고 이를 통해 단일한 개념으로 정의할 수 없는 세상의 원리와 이치에 대해 고찰한다. 이윤희는 홍익대학교에서 도예유리과를 졸업하고 동 대학원에서 석사를 졸업하였다. 2013년 갤러리 ag를 시작으로 김해 미술관(2013), 대전예술가의 집(2015), 홍콩 ART PROJECTS GALLERY(2015), 갤러리JJ(2016), 아뜰리에 아키(2017), 이응노미술관(2018), 띠오(2023) 등에서 개인전을 개최했으며, 클레이 아트 김해미술관(2014), 대구미술관(2016), 스페이스 K(2018), 대전시립미술관(2019), 광주시립미술관(2020), 국립현대미술관(2021) 등 다수의 기획전에 참여하였다. 작가는 서울문화재단 신당창작아케이트, 클레이아트김해미술관, 시가라키 도자의숲 등의 레지던시 프로그램에 참여하였으며, 한향림도자박물관, 송은문화재단, 영은미술관, 국립현대미술관 미술은행 등에 작품이 소장되어 있다. Lee Yunhee presents her own narrative reinterpretation of Dante's "La Divina Commedia" through ceramic artworks. The artist meticulously depicts elaborate patterns in gold on finely grooved ceramics. Departing from the typical forms of pottery, she utilizes ceramics as a medium to express three-dimensionality, flatness, and relief, continuing her distinctive artistic endeavors. Various motifs such as girl skulls, flowers, horses, and medieval knights are depicted on the relief white pottery. The artist portrays the girl as the protagonist, capturing her encounters with various challenges on a long journey toward healing from desires and anxieties. Symbolically juxtaposing life and death, she constructs a grand narrative through combinations and arrangements of these symbolic motifs. Through her artwork, she elucidates the process of returning from existence to non-existence, contemplating the stages of detachment from desires and reflecting on the principles and essence of the world that cannot be defined by singular concepts. Lee Yunhee graduated from the Department of Ceramics and Glass at Hongik University and obtained a master's degree from the same collage. Starting from gallery ag in 2013, she has held solo exhibitions at various venues such as Gimhae Art Museum(2013), Daejeon Artists' House(2015), Hong Kong Art Projets Gallery (2015), Gallery JJ (2016), Atelier Aki (2017), Lee Ungno Museum of Art(2018), and Tio(2023). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions including Clayarch Gimhae Museum(2014), Daegu Art Museum (2016), Space K(2018), Daejeon Museum of Art(2019), Gwangju Museum of Art(2020), and National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art(2021). The artist has participated in residency programs such as Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture's Sindang Creation Arcade, Clayarch Gimhae Museum and Sigraki Ceramics Forest, and her works are held in collections including Hanyang Lim Ceramic Museum, Song Eun Cultural Foundation, Yeongeun Art Museum, and National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art's Art Bank.
