Lee Eun

이은은 도자와 회화의 언어가 어우러지는 작업을 선보인다. 작가는 담백한 정서와 기억에서 출발하는 자신의 자기 서사적 이야기를 담아 흙의 파편을 불에 구운 후 색채와 형태가 미묘하게 다른 개별 단위의 파편들을 만들고, 이를 하나의 작품으로 잇고 연결한다. 즉, 개별적인 이야기들이 모여 하나의 서사를 형성하는 것이다. 작가는 작품을 통해 개인의 특정한 기억이나 경험을 넘어 무의식적 감각의 층위로 연결 고리를 이어나가며, 경험의 확장성을 보여준다. 이처럼 작가는 낮과 밤, 푸른빛을 띤 조각과 조각 사이의 조화로 시작과 끝이 없는 무한함을 표현한다. 작가는 이 무한의 끝을 삶에 대한 다음 페이지의 이야기로 남겨 놓으며, 작품을 통해 관객과 소통하고자 한다. 이은은 추계예술대학교를 졸업하였으며, 2008년 고막원에서 첫 개인전을 시작으로 갤러리 나눔(2010), 아트스페이스 3(2013, 2015), 갤러리 이도(2015), 갤러리 로얄(2019) 등에서 개인전을 개최하였으며. [MIX up+](2011, 한국도자재단), [김태균 이은 2인전](2018, 갤러리 비원), [Musing Slowly](2021, 갤러리 휴 싱가포르), [ART-IST](2022, 분더샵) 등 다수의 단체전에 참여하였다. 작가의 작품은 국립현대미술관에서 소장하고 있다. Lee Eun combines the languages of ceramics and painting in her work. Starting from subtle emotions and memories, the artist incorporates her own autobiographical narrative. She creates individual fragments of clay, fired in the kiln to subtle variations in color and form, and then connects them to form a single piece. In other words, individual stories come together to form a narrative. Through her work, the artist extends beyond specific personal memories or experiences, connecting threads to the layers of unconscious sensations and demonstrating the expansiveness of experience. In this way, Lee Eun expresses the infinite continuity between day and night, between pieces imbued with blue light, representing the endlessness of beginning and end. Leaving the end of this infinity as the next page in the story of life, the artist aims to communicate with the audience through her work. Lee Eun graduated from Chugye University for the Arts. She began her first solo exhibition at the Gomakwon Gallery in 2008, followed by solo exhibitions at Gallery Nanum(2010), Art Space 3 (2013, 2015), Gallery Yido (2015), and Gallery Royal (2019). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions including "MIX up+" (2011, Korean Ceramic Foundation), "Kim Taekyun and Lee Eun 2-person Exhibition" (2018, Gallery B-one), "Musing Slowly"(2021, Gallery Huue Singapore), and "ART-IST" (2022, BOONTHESHOP). Her works are held in the collection of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.
