Oh Youkyeong

오유경은 일상에서 다양한 사물들의 관계를 설치미술로 새롭게 풀어낸다. 작가는 사물이 자연으로부터 가지는 에너지의 순환에 대해 탐구하며, 다양한 개념과 사물의 형태 그리고 그 관계성을 시각화한다. 작가의 작품 안에서 모든 사물은 서로 유기적인 새로운 관계를 맺고, 끊임없는 변화할 수 있는 형태의 설치 작품으로 변모한다. 이러한 작가의 개념은 대표작 〈바람의 탑〉시리즈에서 잘 보여준다. 작가가 직접 만든 원형의 크리스탈 및 각각 다른 다양한 형태의 모듈들을 가지고 탑을 쌓듯이 조합하여 그 안에서 또 다른 형태를 만들어 낸다. 작가는 탑을 쌓고 무너트리고 다시 쌓기를 반복하여, 끊임없이 모습이 변화하는 과정을 거쳐 완성된 작업을 통해 세상이 계속 변화하고 있음을 보여준다. 이를 통해 사물의 요소들이 무한한 구조로 상상될 수 있으며, 사람들이 세상을 바라보는 고정적인 시각과 인식에서 탈피하고자 한다. 나아가 삶을 구성하는 관계, 자연의 법칙, 사회적 시스템 등 관계성의 변화에 대해서도 함께 성찰한다. 오유경은 서울시립대학교 환경조각과 졸업 후, 파리 8대학 대학원 조형예술학과 석사학위를 취득하고, 파리국립고등미술학교 조형예술학 국가학위(DNSAP)를 취득하였다. 2007 첫 개인전을 시작으로, 노암갤러리(2009), OCI 미술관(2011), 스페이스 K(2015), 챕터투(2017), 아트소향(2020), 플레이스막 2(2021), ASK(2022)에서 개인전을 개최했으며, 성곡미술관(2011), 오설록티뮤지엄(2017), 부산시립미술관(2017), APMA(2022), 성북구립미술관(2023) 등 다수의 기획전에 참여하였다. 경기창작센터, 고양창작스튜디오, 프랑스 파리Fondation d'entreprised'Hermes 아뜰리에 등 국내외 레지던시 프로그램에 참여하였으며, 그의 작품은 국립현대미술관, OCI미술관, 부산현대미술관, 크리스찬디올재단, 에르매스재단 등 주요 미술관과 재단에서 소장하고 있다. Oh Youkyeong reinterprets various relationships between objects in daily life through installation art. The artist explores the circulation of energy that objects derive from nature and visualizes the diverse concepts, forms, and relationships of objects. Within the artist's works, all objects establish organic new relationships with each other, transforming into installation works of constantly changing forms. This concept is well demonstrated in the artist's representative series, "Tower of Wind." By combining circular crystals handmade by the artist and various modules of different shapes, the artist creates another form within the tower, akin to building and stacking blocks. Through a process of stacking, collapsing, and rebuilding the tower repeatedly, the artist shows that the world is constantly changing. Through this, the elements of objects can be imagined in infinite structures, aiming to transcend people's fixed perspectives and perceptions of the world. Furthermore, Oh reflects on the changes in relationality, such as the relationships that constitute life, the laws of nature, and social systems. Oh Youkyeong graduated from University of Seoul with a degree in Environmental Sculpture and obtained a master's degree in Sculpture from Paris 8 University, followed by a national degree (DNSAP) in Sculpture from the National School of Fine Arts in Paris. Starting with her first solo exhibition in 2007, she has held solo exhibitions at venues such as Noam Gallery(2009), OCI Art Museum(2011), Space K(2015), Chapter Two(2017), Artsohyang(2020), PlaceMak 2(2021), and ASK(2022). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions at venues including Seonggok Museum of Art(2011), O'Sulloc Tea Museum(2017), Busan Museum of Art(2017), APMA(2022), and Seongbuk Art Museum(2023). Oh has participated in various residency programs both domestically and internationally, such as Gyeonggi Creation Center, Goyang Creation Studio, and Fondation d'entreprise Hermès Atelier in Paris, France. Her works are held in major art museums and foundations such as the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, OCI Museum of Art, Busan Museum of Modern Art, Christian Dior Foundation, and Hermes Foundation.
