Lee Jaemin

싱가포르에서 거주하며 활발히 활동하고 있는 이재민은 일상에서 쉽게 접하는 대상을 자신만의 상징적 요소로 담아내어, 섬세한 감수성이 담긴 자전적 이야기를 아름답게 표현한다. 그의 작품은 두터운 마띠에르와 붓끝에서 나오는 섬세한 터치로 회화의 요소를 극대화하며 서정적인 감성을 공유한다. 작가는 오랜동안 해외에서 살아오면서 느낀 타자의 시선으로 일상을 바라본다. 작가는 자신만의 조형적인 언어로 이국적인 감성이 가득 담아 그런 일상을 재해석하여 표현한다. 특히 그의 작품에서 표현되는 인물은 일상생활을 보내는 중임에도 독특하고 모호한 표정으로 묘사되어 있어 신비감을 보여준다. 주변에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 사물들과 풍경의 모습은 작가의 작품 안에서 다채로운 색감과 몽환적인 느낌으로 표현되어 관람객에게 새로운 감각을 선사한다. 작가는 단순히 외적 사회를 재현하는 것이 아닌 인간의 내적 감정을 결합시켜 세밀하게 표현한 작품을 통해 평범한 일상을 벗어난 환상적인 일상을 경험하게 한다. 이재민은 2009년 갤러리 서초를 시작으로 갤러리 도어(2010), 갤러리 N(2017), 갤러리 휴 싱가포르(2022), PBG(2024) 등에서 개인전을 개최했으며, [Summer Feast](2023, PBG), [ART-IST] (2022, 분더샵), 세종문화회관, 서울미술관, 갤러리 이배, 리나갤러리, 가나아트부산, 한가람 미술관 등 다수의 단체전에 참여하였다. Residing in Singapore, Lee Jaemin actively engages in expressing autobiographical stories with delicate sensibility by capturing easily encountered objects in daily life as her own symbolic elements. Her works maximize the elements of painting with thick impasto and delicate touches from the brush tip, sharing a lyrical sentiment. Having lived abroad for a long time, Lee views daily life through the eyes of an outsider. She reinterprets such everyday life filled with exotic sentiments using her unique painting languages. Particularly, the figures depicted in her works, although going about their daily lives, are portrayed with unique and ambiguous expressions, exuding mystery. The appearances of common objects and landscapes commonly seen in the surroundings are expressed with vibrant colors and a dreamy atmosphere in the artist's works, offering viewers a new sensation. Rather than simply reproducing the external society, Lee combines human internal emotions to intricately depict works, allowing viewers to experience a fantastical everyday life beyond the ordinary. Lee Jaemin has held solo exhibitions at venues such as Gallery Seocho(2009), Gallery DooR(2010), Gallery N(2012), Gallery Huue Singapore(2022), and PBG(2024). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, Seoul Museum of Art, Gallery IBAE, Lena Gallery, Gana Art Busan, and Hangaram Art Museum, among others.
